Don King Director of Golf at Barona Creek Golf Club Honored with Two-Time Distinction as PGA Golf Pro of the Year

(San Diego, CA) October 18, 2005 — Don King, Director of Golf at Barona Creek Golf Club, was named the 2005 San Diego PGA Golf Professional of the Year by the Southern California PGA-San Diego Chapter. King was also recognized by the local section as their top PGA Golf Professional in 2003.

King has served as the Director of Golf at Barona Creek Golf Club since it’s opening in January of 2001. Barona Creek Golf Club has garnered numerous accolades including recognition as one of Golf Magazine's "Top 10 New Golf Courses in the Nation," rating as the 3rd best resort golf course in California by Golfweek Magazine, and a Bronze Signature Sanctuary Certification from

Audubon International for conservation, environmental quality, and land management.  In addition, prolific golf writer Tod Leonard of The San Diego Union-Tribune ranked Barona Creek Golf Club the 2nd best golf course in San Diego on SignOn San Diego, the daily newspaper’s online edition.
